    Raiders released LB Slade Norris.
Nothing like giving up on your fourth-round pick one month after you sign him. Raiders also released S Jerome Boyd, DB Darrick Brown, DE Greyson Gunheim, WR Jonathan Holland, OL James Marten, LB David Nixon, LB Chris O’Neill, FB Marcel Reece, RB Gary Russell, P/K Ricky Schmitt, TE Darrell Strong, OL Mark Wilson, , DT Ryan Boschetti, QB Jeff Garcia, LB Morlon Greenwood, CB Justin Miller, DT Terdell Sands and T Seth Wand.

Raiders signed OLB Slade Norris off their practice squad.
Norris, Oakland’s fourth-round pick, has been on the practice team to this point while struggling to convert to outside linebacker after playing defensive end in college. He’ll back up on the strong side and cover kicks.
  • Linebacker
Raiders placed OLB Slade Norris (hamstring) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Norris, a fourth-round pick out of Oregon State, struggled in his transition from college defensive end to NFL outside linebacker. He probably would’ve been a better fit for a 3-4 team. He’ll battle for a roster spot in 2010.
  • Linebacker
Raiders released LB Slade Norris, DL Chris Cooper, DE Grayson Gunheim, OG Brandon Rodd, OG Alex Parson, and LB David Nixon.
A fourth-round pick out of Oregon State last season, Norris struggled to make the transition from college defensive end. Cooper was originally drafted by the Raiders way back in 2001. He was out of the league for all of 2007-08.
  • Linebacker
Jaguars signed LB Slade Norris from their practice squad.
A 2009 fourth-round pick, Norris has made a slow transition from a college defensive end to linebacker, but he’ll now get an opportunity to help out the Jags on special teams.
  • Linebacker
    Jaguars waived LB Slade Norris.
Norris was a fourth-round pick of the Raiders in 2009 that was cut prior to the 2010 season. He spent last season on the Jags’ practice squad. The college defensive end at Oregon State should probably look for a home in a 3-4 defense.
