Browns signed G Stanley Daniels, G Jarrod Shaw, RB Armond Smith, WR Owen Spencer, OT Dominic Alford, LB Craig Robertson and S David Sims to reserve/future contracts.
Daniels appeared in seven games for the Broncos in 2010, starting four, but didn’t make an NFL appearance in 2011. Smith was shuttled back and forth between the active roster and practice squad, carrying the ball three times for two yards. Sims was briefly on the Bucs’ active roster. Alford, Spencer, Robertson and Shaw should be amongst the Browns’ cuts in camp.

Broncos claimed OG Stanley Daniels off waivers from the Packers.
At 6'4/320, Daniels projects as a better fit in the Broncos’ new power scheme as opposed to Green Bay’s zone-blocking system. The 25-year-old former undrafted free agent from Washington remains a 53-man roster long shot.

    Packers waived OG Stanley Daniels.
Daniels, 25, went undrafted out of Washington in 2007.
  • FA Running Back
Packers signed RB Kregg Lumpkin, CB D.J. Clark, TE Tom Crabtree, OG Stanley Daniels, LB Robert Francois, WR Khalil Jones, QB Chris Pizzotti, and DE Ronald Talley to reserve/future contracts.
All of the above spent the year on Green Bay’s practice squad. Lumpkin showed some promise as a third-down back in 2009 training camp and will push for a roster spot this summer behind Ryan Grant and Brandon Jackson.

    Broncos re-signed G Stanley Daniels.
Daniels started the first four games this season at left guard but was released before Week 14. He’ll provide depth behind rookie Zane Beadles.
  • FA Guard #66
Russ Hochstein started over Stanley Daniels at left guard Sunday.
Daniels goes from a starter to inactive. There’s not really an upgrade here as Hochstein has been a career backup and is coming off ACL surgery. The Broncos struggled badly to open holes for the running game once again Sunday.

    Broncos released G Stanley Daniels.
Denver was forced to make room on the roster for newly-signed K Steven Hauschka, who will fill in for the injured Matt Prater (groin). Daniels started four of the seven games he was active for the Broncos in 2010.
  • CLE Guard #64
Broncos promoted G Stanley Daniels from their practice squad.
Daniels started the first four games this season at left guard but was cut loose earlier this month. He’ll serve in a backup role.
  • Rookie LG Zane Beadles will see time at left tackle Sunday, with Stanley Daniels playing left guard on the first team offense.
Coach Josh McDaniels suggested that the left guard battle remains open to competition, but this seems more about finding a viable backup to Ryan Clady now that Tyler Polumbus has been dumped. We still expect Beadles to start Week 1 at left guard.

Broncos beat writer Jeff Legwold suggests that the one offensive starting position open for the Broncos’ is at left guard.
Said coach Josh McDaniels, “There’s a lot of guys still competing for that job . . . we’ve not given the job to anybody.” Stanley Daniels will start at LG Sunday night against the Lions, while Zane Beadles, who has started the first two preseason games, will see time at guard and tackle.
