Patriots signed DL Stephen Williams, formerly of the Panthers.
At 6'2/306, Williams projects as a defensive end in the Pats’ 3-4 scheme. Most likely, the third-year player is just a practice body for the summer.
  • NE Defensive Lineman
    Panthers signed DT Stephen Williams.
Williams was waived/injured during Carolina’s final cuts last summer. The 6'2/300-pounder is a slightly better bet to stick this time around because the Panthers lack depth at the position. Williams is currently their No. 4 tackle.

Panthers released DBs Ricardo Colclough, Terrence Holt, Joe Fields, and Darren Toney, DTs Nick Hayden and Stephen Williams, DE Stanley McGlover, and LB Tim Shaw.
Colclough’s timing was poor with this morning’s DWI. The Holt family reunion won’t happen in Carolina even if Torry does come home to play after his current Rams contract is up.
  • NE Defensive Lineman
    Patriots released DL Stephen Williams.
Williams has been with the Patriots for two years, but hasn’t appeared in a game since 2006 when he was a member of the Chiefs. Entering his age-30 season, he might be at the end of the line.
