247Sports thinks Ohio State senior S Tanner McCalister is a perfect fit for new DC Jim Knowles’ system.
McCalister spent four years at Oklahoma State, starting for three of them while logging 1,849 career snaps for the Cowboys. Last year he recorded 42 tackles, six PBU and an interception while allowing a 50% completion rate in coverage. He played 389 of his 696 snaps in the slot, 121 in the box and 134 at free safety, so his versatility will be a valuable piece for the Buckeyes secondary as they try to shore up a leaky secondary that allowed 246 passing yards per game last season, 96th most in the country.
