The Raiders signed defensive tackle Ted Washington to a 4 year, $14 million deal.
The deal includes a $4 million signing bonus. The Raiders are overpaying for a 36 year-old with leg injuries two years in a row. That said, this a blow to the Patriots 3-4 defense.

Browns placed NT Ted Washington (knee) on injured reserve, ending his season. He will undergo knee surgery before the start of 2008.
Washington wasn’t on Cleveland’s injury report once this season, but was no longer of use due to ineffectiveness. Ethan Kelley has taken over as the Browns’ starting nose, with undrafted rookie Louis Leonard backing him up. A free agent after the year, Washington, 39, will probably call it a career.
