Bears GM Ryan Poles said T Ozzy Trapilo (knee) will be out “deep into next year.”
Trapilo suffered a torn patellar tendon against the Packers in the Wild Card round. Theo Benedet will likely be the fill-in to start the season unless the Bears want to restructure some contracts against the cap to add a depth piece they’d prefer to Benedet.

Bears OL Braxton Jones (knee) is practicing fully for Chicago’s Divisional Round game against the Rams.
Starting LT Ozzy Trapilo ruptured his patellar tendon in the Bears’ Wild Card win over the Packers, ending his season. Jones has not yet been officially activated from injured reserve, but his full practice participation is a good sign. If activated, he will compete with OL Theo Benedet, who manned the left tackle spot earlier this season.
  • CHI Guard #79
Bears declared LB T.J. Edwards, LB Noah Sewell, LT Theo Benedet, RB Travis Homer, DT Jonathan Ford, QB Case Keenum, WR Jahdae Walker for Chicago’s Week 12 game against the Steelers.
Benedet was questionable with a quad injury that he picked up in practice on Thursday. It may be wise to downgrade Chicago’s rushing attack slightly given how effective it became when Benedet took over at left tackle. Ozzy Trapilo is set to start in his stead. Edwards, Sewell and Homer were declared out on Friday from their various injuries. The other three are healthy scratches, with Keenum serving as the third quarterback.
