Coach Pat Shurmur conceded that injured reserve is likely for the special teamer and reserve linebacker.

The Browns’ No. 6 defense will already be without strong-side linebacker Scott Fujita (hand). If Maiava can’t go, Titus Brown would be forced to fill in. Chris Gocong has switched sides to replace Fujita.

Brown will need surgery on his right knee. The backup linebacker and special teamer recorded five tackles and one sack in 10 games this year.

The Browns/Mike Holmgren likely want to get a look at Brown over these last two weeks.

Brown, an undrafted rookie, showed big-league potential at Mississippi State where he collected eight sacks and 13.5 tackles for a loss as a senior. Poor pre-draft workouts led him to go unpicked. Brown has a chance for instant playing time because Cleveland is so weak opposite Kamerion Wimbley.

Brown has yet to practice this week, and his status for Sunday remains up in the air. He’s a reserve linebacker and special teamer.

Neither linebacker practiced all week. Marcus Benard will continue to fill in at LOLB for Fujita, as he has been a capable replacement over the last three weeks with Fujita sidelined. Brown is strictly a reserve and special teamer.

Brown apparently suffered a concussion while covering a kick early on.

The Browns had an injury on the offensive line, so they needed Brown’s roster spot. He should be back on the practice squad shortly.

The Browns cut Brown in August when they needed to free up a roster spot. He’ll give them some depth at outside linebacker.
