Bills declared WR Curtis Samuel, NCB Taron Johnson, S Jordan Hancock, LB Shaq Thompson. T Chase Lundt, DT Ed Oliver, and DE Landon Jackson inactive for Week 2 against the Jets.
We already knew Oliver was missing this week with an ankle injury but there had been hope that Johnson (quad) would suit up. Those are two big losses for this Bills defense heading into a showdown with a Jets offense that seemed live in week one. The good news is that Tre’Davious White (groin) will make his season debut across from Christian Bedford.
  • BUF Cornerback #27
NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reports Bills CB Tre’Davious White (groin) will be active for Week 2 against the Jets.
White missed Week 1 with the groin issue and was listed as questionable for Week 2 after three limited practices. He may be worked in slowly for his first game of 2025, but White will make his return to Buffalo later today after spending last year with the Rams and Ravens. White could replace sixth-round rookie Dorian Strong in the lineup. Strong started in Week 1 but may be better deployed as a reserve cornerback for now.
  • BUF Cornerback #7
Bills CB Taron Johnson (quad) is questionable to play in Week 2 against the Jets.
The Bills’ talented slot cornerback suffered a quad injury in Week 1. He logged just two limited sessions in practice this week. The Bills have also listed CB Tre’Davious White (groin), backup S Jordan Hancock and LB Shaq Thompson (hamstring/hand) as questionable for Week 2. Star DT Ed Oliver is expected to miss multiple weeks after injuring his ankle in practice this week. The Jets’ capable skill position players are primed for a solid outing in Week 2.
  • BUF Cornerback #27
Bills CB Tre’Davious White (groin) was limited in Wednesday’s practice.
White did not practice last week and was listed as doubtful on Friday. As expected, he was ruled out before kickoff. It looks like the veteran corner is nearing a return after getting in a limited session to open the week. White will likely take over as Buffalo’s CB2 once healthy.
  • BUF Cornerback #47
Bills CB Christian Benford (groin) is off Buffalo’s final Week 1 injury report.
He practiced in full on Thursday and Friday and should be good to go against the Ravens on Sunday. Tre’Davious White (groin) was not so fortunate, being listed as doubtful after three straight DNPs. Benford is a good starter, but the Bills CB2 spot threatens to be an exploitable fantasy matchup in the early season with White unable to stay on the field.
  • BUF Cornerback #47
Bills CB Christian Benford (groin) was limited on Wednesday.
Bills CB Tre’Davious White was limited by a groin strain as well. That makes both of the Bills’ starting perimeter cornerbacks who are now questionable to play in Week 1 against the Ravens. Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman could have fruitful outings if neither coverage defender can go.
  • BUF Cornerback #27
Bills GM Brandon Beane said Tre’Davious White (leg) will play again this season.
He didn’t rule him out of Week 1, though that seems aggressive. Buffalo will be relying on pieces like Dorian Strong or Ja’Marcus Ingram to fill out the Week 1 depth chart at outside corner next to Christian Benford while White heals.
  • BUF Cornerback #27
Bills CB Tre’Davious White left practice early on Thursday after suffering an apparent leg injury.
White reportedly hopped on one leg, over to Bills’ trainers, before being carted to the locker room. No word on the injury’s specifics yet. Fellow CB Christian Benford exited practice early as well, though he later said he is okay and “just needed some rest.”
  • BUF Cornerback #25
Bills signed CB Tre’Davious White, formerly of the Ravens, to a one-year contract.
Tom Pelissero reports the contract is worth “up to” $6.8 million. White, now 30 years old, returns to the team that drafted him in the 2017 NFL Draft’s first round. White was a force to be reckoned with early in his career, but a 2021 ACL tear and a 2023 Achilles tendon rupture have reduced his play quality. He finished 2024 with a career-low 54.8 PFF coverage grade. White will now compete for the Bills’ No. 2 perimeter role.
  • BUF Wide Receiver #0
Keon Coleman caught 1-of-1 targets for five yards in the Bills’ AFC Divisional Round win over the Ravens.
Coleman did little in the box score but had a big impact on the game just before halftime, miraculously avoiding an offensive pass interference call while pushing Ravens cornerback Tre’Davious White down to the ground near the Ravens’ own 12-yard line. White mildly reacted to Coleman mid-fall and somehow earned himself a defensive pass interference call. Josh Allen ran the ball in for a four-yard touchdown three plays later. Coleman is a boom/bust DFS flex option against the Chiefs.
