An undersized return prospect, Guy’s college career was derailed when he was the victim of a gunshot wound. He’s unlikely to make Carolina’s roster.

Fantasy leaguers might recall Vaughan’s name because he vultured a short-yardage touchdown from Mike Goodson in Week 10. He’s not much of a long-term prospect. Ware and Guy are mere special teams candidates for 2011.

Guy, a return prospect, is a strong candidate for the practice squad.

The Panthers’ return jobs are finally starting to clear up. Guy is likely practice squad bound, and Sutton’s injury should leave Mike Goodson as the primary kickoff returner. Captain Munnerlyn is expected to handle punts again after rookie Armanti Edwards struggled early in preseason action.

Also waived by the Panthers today were DL Tommie Duhart, DL Louis Ellis, and P Anthony Santella. An undrafted free agent a year ago, this is the second straight summer Guy has been waived by Carolina.
