Jets QB Tyrod Taylor (groin) did not practice Wednesday.
With Taylor and Justin Fields (knee) sidelined, Brady Cook will get all the first-team practice reps ahead of the team’s Week 15 game against the Jaguars, according to head coach Aaron Glenn. Cook threw for 163 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions while completing 46.7 percent of his passes against the Dolphins in relief of Taylor last Sunday. He would be a significant downgrade for all New York pass catchers.

Jets HC Aaron Glenn said the “guy that’s gonna give us the best chance to win” will have the most first-team reps ahead of Week 15’s game against the Jaguars.
Justin Fields (knee) was ruled out last Friday ahead of Week 14’s game against the Dolphins, and Tyrod Taylor exited the game with a groin injury and did not return to the field. Glenn said he still has to talk to the team doctors to see where things stand as far as the health of his players is concerned, but we could be looking at rookie UDFA Brady Cook making his first career start if both Taylor and Fields are unable to go in Week 15. Cook threw for 163 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions while completing 46.7 percent of his passes against the Dolphins. What little upside Jets positions players still have will be capped if Cook is under center next week.
  • NYJ Quarterback #4
Brady Cook completed 14-of-30 passes for 163 yards and two interceptions in the Jets’ 34-10, Week 14 loss to the Dolphins.
Cook had a whirlwind of a week, getting signed to the active roster from the practice squad with Justin Fields (knee) out this week. Tyrod Taylor completed 1-of-4 passes for six yards and an interception before exiting due to a groin injury. Cook came in for his NFL debut and predictably struggled throughout the game. He threw two interceptions, both in the red zone and both towards the end of each half. Cook is not a better quarterback option than Taylor or Fields, but may get another start in Week 15 against the Jaguars if both remain out with their respective injuries. Cook is barely a fantasy QB3 option.

Jets QB Tyrod Taylor (groin) is questionable to return in Week 14 against the Dolphins.
Taylor left in the first quarter against the Dolphins with an apparent groin injury. He headed to the locker room after throwing an interception; with Justin Fields (knee) inactive for this game, former Missouri Tiger Brady Cook is making his NFL debut at quarterback. Taylor, who completed just one of his four passes for six yards, was questionable to return and that status was later changed to doubtful. It wouldn’t be surprising if he missed time beyond this game.

Tyrod Taylor completed 19-of-33 passes for 172 yards and a touchdown in the Jets’ 27-24, Week 13 win over the Falcons, adding eight rushes for 44 yards and a second score.
Not the world’s most amazing box score, but certainly better than what Justin Fields had been providing. Taylor also lost a potential second passing score when John Metchie dropped what looked like a TD early in the fourth quarter. For the touchdown Taylor did convert, he hit Adonai Mitchell after the boom/bust wideout ran right by Mike Hughes. It wasn’t Taylor’s best throw, but one Mitchell adjusted to. This being Taylor, he also got shaken up on a big second half hit but thankfully avoided any missed snaps. He will undoubtedly be sore on Monday, but Taylor should be out there for a plus Week 14 date with the Dolphins. He will find himself on the QB2/3 borderline in superflex leagues.

Tyrod Taylor completed 17-of-28 passes for 222 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in the Jets’ 23-10, Week 12 loss to the Ravens.
Taylor’s lone interception came in the closing minutes of the game when things were well out of reach. Despite that hiccup, the veteran quarterback fared much better on Sunday against the Ravens than Justin Fields has in nearly every game this season. The Jets put the first points of the day on the board in the second quarter when Taylor connected with John Metchie for a 13-yard score, but unfortunately for the Jets, it was the only touchdown they would manage on the day. Taylor showed a great rapport with Metchie, who led the Jets with 6-65-1 on seven targets, and also got Breece Hall involved (4-75-0) through the air. Whether or not Aaron Glenn commits to Taylor as the Week 13 starter against the Falcons is anybody’s guess, but Taylor didn’t do anything to lose his job in this one. Assuming he gets the nod again, he’ll be a low-end QB2 next week.
  • NYJ Quarterback #2
Jets head coach Aaron Glenn said QB Tyrod Taylor will start in Week 12 against the Ravens.
Glenn confirmed that Justin Fields would once again be benched after his abysmal Week 11 outing against New England. Taylor will take over the Jets offense for now, starting with a tough matchup against a now-healthy Baltimore defense. Taylor’s insertion into the starting lineup likely means more drop back volume for Jets pass catchers. It could make Mason Taylor and perhaps AD Mitchell interesting in deeper formats, along with John Metchie, who last week against the Patriots had three catches for 45 yards and a touchdown.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini reports Tyrod Taylor will start in Week 12 against the Ravens.
Jets HC Aaron Glenn confirmed the report shortly after Russini broke the news. The move to Taylor as the starter felt inevitable after Justin Fields again struggled through the air in Week 11’s loss to the Patriots. It’s a move that probably should have come much sooner, but Taylor is a seasoned vet who, despite his flaws, has proven to be the more capable starter in limited action this season. In three appearances, including one start, Taylor has thrown for 379-3-3 on 69 passes while completing 62.3 percent of his attempts. He’ll have his work cut out for him playing with a depleted receiving corps, but Taylor should provide a little more upside for a passing game in need of help.
  • NYJ Quarterback #7
Jets HC Aaron Glenn opened Monday’s presser saying, “Please don’t ask me anything about the QBs.”
It’s par for the course for Glenn, who reminded reporters that “I’m not going to tell you” even if they do ask. Justin Fields threw for a whopping 54 yards in Sunday’s win over the Browns, which was only made possible by two special teams touchdowns and a 42-yard touchdown reception by Breece Hall that came on a screen pass. Glenn has been in Fields’ corner since day one and was nearly backed into benching him before an injury to Tyrod Taylor forced Fields back into the starting lineup for Week 9. Fields will likely continue to start until the losses again pile up, which could happen as early as Thursday when they take on the 8-2 Patriots.

Jets coach Aaron Glenn said “we’ll have a quarterback” when asked who would start Week 10’s game against the Browns.
At this point, Glenn should just do his pressers in a Guy Fawkes mask. ESPN’s Rich Cimini believes Justin Fields is “expected” to get the nod. Neither Fields nor Taylor makes for much of a fantasy starter this week either way because of Cleveland’s good defense, but the threat of both of them playing probably makes them bottom-rung superflex options for Week 10.
