Calgary forward Joe Colborne, who notched a career-high in assists last year, suffered a thumb injury in Thursday’s game against Winnipeg and is out week-to-week, per head coach Bob Hartley.
Colborne, 25, was a regular fixture in the Calgary lineup last year, though he did miss time with a wrist injury (unrelated to his current issue). When healthy, the 6-foot-5, 215-pounder averaged over 15 minutes a night during the regular season, then saw more in the playoffs, when he was bumped up to 17:13.
Colborne finished with two points in 11 games which included this nice breakaway goal against Anaheim in Round 2:
As for how long he’ll be out?
Colborne "it'll be a few weeks for sure... We're just hoping to avoid surgery" will see a specialist in Van. Tough break #Flames
