Jakara Anthony, two-time Olympic moguls gold medalist, takes competition break

Australian Jakara Anthony, an Olympic moguls gold medalist in 2022 and 2026, plans to sit out the 2026-27 season.

“After over 15 years of back-to-back winters it’s time for a break (and warmer weather!)” was posted on her social media. “No comps for me this season - see you back on tour next year!”

Anthony, 28, followed her moguls gold medal at the 2022 Beijing Games by winning the Olympic debut of dual moguls at the 2026 Milan Cortina Games.

She is the only woman to win multiple Olympic golds in moguls.

The moguls World Cup season begins Dec. 12 in Ruka, Finland. The biennial World Championships are in March in Montafon, Austria.

With Anthony absent, the top returning women’s moguls skiers are expected to be Americans: 2026 Olympic gold medalist Liz Lemley and Jaelin Kauf, who took silver in moguls and dual moguls this past February.

Mikael Kingsbury put a date on his retirement from freestyle skiing with two Olympic gold medals.
