U.S. Olympian Jason Brown notched the first senior international victory of his career, taking the Nebelhorn Trophy in Oberstdorf, Germany, on Friday.
The Olympic team bronze medalist won by 8.69 points over Czech Michal Brezina, the 2013 European bronze medalist. Brown, 19 and skating without his trademark ponytail, posted the highest scores in the short program (83.59) and the free skate (153.58).
Brown came in second in the event last year before making his first U.S. Olympic team. Brown was ninth in Sochi.
Olympic teammate Gracie Gold was in third after the short program in Oberstdorf. The women’s free skate is Saturday.
