LA28 and the Los Angeles Rams announced the first recipients of LA28’s Community Ticket Program, with 10 local organizations receiving a combined 1,000 free tickets to the Games.
The program ensures that Los Angeles residents of all backgrounds have the opportunity to experience the Games.
The first recipient organizations are A Place Called Home, After-School All-Stars, Al Wooten Jr. Youth Center, Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro LA, Brotherhood Crusade, Heart of Los Angeles, Project Blue, Social Justice Learning Institute, Swim Up Hill and YMCA of Metro LA.
They were selected “for their deep commitment to the community and their work empowering the youth of the Los Angeles region,” according to LA28.
The tickets are for flag football, which makes its Olympic debut in 2028, or swimming, which will take place at the Rams’ home stadium.
Last November, it was announced that the Rams would donate $5 million to start a fundraising program to provide free tickets to the LA28 Olympics and Paralympics for local residents.
The fundraising effort invited local sports teams, philanthropists and partners to fund ticket donations to go to local community organizers to distribute.
SoFi Stadium will also co-host the 2028 Olympic Opening Ceremony with the LA Memorial Coliseum, then will become the first NFL stadium to hold Olympic swimming. It will also host the Paralympic Opening Ceremony.
