Put Nairo Quintana down for the Tour de France and the Rio Olympics next year.
“I’ll do both Tour and the Olympics,” Quintana said, according to Cycling Weekly.
Quintana, 25, finished second to Chris Froome in the 2013 and 2015 Tours de France and won the 2014 Giro d’Italia.
The 2016 Tour de France, covering three weeks and usually 2,000 miles, will end July 24. The 159-mile Olympic road race is Aug. 6. That’s one more week of rest in between than in 2012.
Quintana was not on the Colombian Olympic team as a 22-year-old in 2012, before his Grand Tour debut. Another Colombian, Rigoberto Uran, took Olympic road race silver in London.
Froome has already said he plans a 2016 Tour-Olympic double.
