The Pan Pacific Championships, the biggest international meet of 2026 for U.S. swimmers, air live from Wednesday through Saturday on Peacock and NBCSN from Irvine, California.
Competition starts Monday with open-water 10km races live on the USA Swimming YouTube Channel.
Pan Pacs are for nations outside Europe, while Europe holds its own continental championships this month.
Olympic gold medalists Katie Ledecky, Simone Manuel, Kate Douglass, Torri Huske and Bobby Finke headline the U.S. team that will face top swimmers from Australia, Canada, China and Japan, among other nations.
Swimmers to watch at Pan Pacific Championships
Traditionally at Pan Pacs, qualified swimmers are allowed to enter any event on the schedule, but a maximum of two swimmers per nation can qualify for A finals.
The most anticipated matchups include the women’s 400m freestyle on Friday, expected to feature world record holder Summer McIntosh of Canada, the third-fastest swimmer in history Ledecky and Australian Lani Pallister, who nearly ran down Ledecky in the 800m free at the 2025 World Championships.
Ledecky has competed in a major international meet every year dating to the 2012 London Olympics (save the 2020 COVID year), but this will be her first meet on this level held in the U.S.
Finke, an Olympic gold medalist in the 800m and 1500m frees, could face Australia’s top male distance swimmer, Sam Short, on Wednesday (800m) and Saturday (1500m).
In the women’s 50m free on Saturday, the two fastest women in history — Virginia training partners Gretchen Walsh and Douglass — are expected to go head-to-head. On June 28, Walsh broke Douglass’ world record, which Douglass had set nine days prior.
