Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone and husband Andre Levrone announced the birth of daughter Savannah on Sunday.
“Our blessing and our joy is finally here!” was posted on their social media. “So grateful for everyone who supported us through the pregnancy journey. Looking forward to seeing what God has in store for our little girl!!”
McLaughlin-Levrone, the two-time Olympic 400m hurdles gold medalist, last competed at the September 2025 World Championships.
She ran the flat 400m there, clocking the second-fastest time in history (47.78, just off the 47.60 world record from 1985) in her global championship debut at that distance.
McLaughlin-Levrone has said she hopes to return to competition as a mom and bid for a fourth Olympics in Los Angeles in 2028.
She has not announced what event(s) she hopes to contest at the LA Games, but doesn’t think she will race both the flat 400m and the 400m hurdles.
“We’ll see how pregnancy goes and postpartum and all of those different things,” she recently told USA Today Sports. “It’s going to be a slow progression back. I’m not rushing anything, but for sure that’s an exciting time that everyone’s looking forward to, which is the LA Games. I really hope to be back there with the USA on my chest representing our country.”
