The Toyota USA Swimming National Championships, featuring Olympic gold medalists Caeleb Dressel, Kate Douglass and Gretchen Walsh, air live from Tuesday through Saturday at 9 p.m. ET on Peacock and NBCSN.
National champions will be crowned at the outdoor Woollett Aquatics Center in Irvine, California.
The field also includes Olympic medalists Alex Walsh, Jack Alexy, Ilya Kharun and Katie Grimes, plus Luca Urlando, the 2025 World champion in the men’s 200m butterfly, and Anna Moesch, the newly minted American record holder in the women’s 100m freestyle.
Some swimmers are preparing for the Pan Pacific Championships, the major international meet of 2026, which are two weeks from now, also in Irvine.
The Pan Pacs roster, which also includes Katie Ledecky and Bobby Finke, was determined last summer.
For many swimmers not going to Pan Pacs, including Dressel, nationals is their main peak meet this summer.
Caeleb Dressel, Kate Douglass, Gretchen Walsh headline swimming nationals entries
Dressel, a nine-time Olympic gold medalist who did not compete at the 2025 Nationals, is back in his four primary events — 50m and 100m butterflies and freestyles.
Douglass, the Olympic 200m breaststroke gold medalist, is entered in the 50m free and 100m breast.
Gretchen Walsh’s lone event at nationals is the 50m free. On June 28, Walsh broke the world record in the splash and dash, a record that her training partner Douglass had broken nine days earlier.
So on the last day of nationals on Saturday, the two fastest women in history are slated to go head-to-head in the 50m free.
