Usain Bolt will race a 100m for the first time since Aug. 23 at the Cayman Invitational on May 14, according to meet organizers.
If Bolt does not race another distance before May 14, the Cayman Invitational will mark his latest start to an Olympic season in four Olympic cycles.
In 2012, Bolt debuted in a 4x100m relay in Kingston, Jamaica, on April 14 and individually May 5.
Bolt swept the 100m, 200m and 4x100m relay at Worlds last August for the third time in four tries.
Going into his final Olympics, he is challenged by Justin Gatlin, who lost in the Worlds 100m final by .01 on Aug. 23 but ran the fastest 100m of the night earlier in the semifinals.
U.S. Olympic champions Allyson Felix and Carmelita Jeter are also slated for the Cayman meet, according to trackalerts.com.
