Padres purchased the contract of LHP Pedro Hernandez from Double-A San Antonio.
Hernandez is now protected from the Rule 5 Draft. The 22-year-old southpaw posted an impressive 3.49 ERA and 94/22 K/BB ratio over 116 innings this season between High-A Lake Elsinore, Double-A San Antonio and Triple-A Tucson.

White Sox acquired LHP Pedro Hernandez and RHP Simon Castro from the Padres for OF Carlos Quentin.
Hernandez, 22, posted a 3.49 ERA over 116 innings at three different levels of the Padres’ organization in 2011, and projects as a middle relief type in the majors. He is likely still a year or two away from being relevant.

Pedro Hernandez will start for the White Sox on Wednesday night against the Red Sox.
Hernandez has registered a promising 2.90 ERA and 1.23 WHIP across 80 2/3 innings this season in Chicago’s minor league system. The 23-year-old left-hander was acquired from the Padres back in December of 2011 in a package for Carlos Quentin.

Pedro Hernandez was absolutely destroyed in his MLB debut against the Red Sox on Wednesday, allowing eight runs on 12 hits in just four innings of work.
He walked one while striking out two. Cody Ross single-handedly provided the majority of the damage, bashing a pair of three-run homers to put the game out of reach early. Hernandez came over from the Padres in the Carlos Quentin trade and put up a respectable 2.90 ERA over 80 2/3 innings between Double-A and Triple-A before getting his shot in place of the injured Gavin Floyd. No announcement has been made yet, but it would be surprising if the 23-year-old lefty stuck around to make another turn in the rotation.

White Sox optioned LHP Pedro Hernandez to Triple-A Charlotte.
It comes as no surprise after Hernandez was battered by the Red Sox for eight runs on 12 hits over just four innings in his major league debut Wednesday. He’ll return to a 2.90 ERA in the minors.

White Sox recalled LHP Pedro Hernandez from Triple-A Charlotte.
Hernandez, who was acquired from the Padres in the Carlos Quentin deal, will make his major league debut Wednesday night against the Red Sox. The 23-year-old left-hander has compiled a 2.90 ERA and 48/19 K/BB ratio over 80 2/3 innings between Double- and Triple-A this season. Most fantasy owners can afford to wait and see.

Twins acquired LHP Pedro Hernandez and INF Eduardo Escobar from the White Sox for LHP Francisco Liriano.
Hernandez was shelled for eight runs on 12 hits over just four innings earlier this season in his major league debut and hasn’t been back since. He has a cool 2.94 ERA this year on the farm, but he’s also sporting a weak 5.7 K/9. The 23-year-old southpaw simply does not possess dominant stuff.

Twins recalled LHP Pedro Hernandez from Triple-A Charlotte.
Acquired from the White Sox in the Francisco Liriano deal, Hernandez put up a 3.32 ERA at Double- and Triple-A this season but also struck out just 65 over 103 innings. He’ll likely return to Rochester next season.

Pedro Hernandez will remain in the Twins’ rotation for now.
Hernandez has been blasted for 11 runs over 7 1/3 innings in his last two outings, but the Twins aren’t ready to give up on him yet. The lefty will have to shape up in a hurry, as Liam Hendriks, Samuel Deduno and Cole De Vries are options to replace him.

Pedro Hernandez allowed six runs over two innings but avoided a loss Wednesday as the Twins topped the Red Sox.
Hernandez was staked leads of 4-0 and 11-5 but couldn’t last long enough to pick up the easy win. The left-hander allowed a grand slam to Jonny Gomes in the first inning and a solo shot to Shane Victorino in the second before exiting. He hasn’t been all that bad this year, but like most Twins pitchers he pitches to contact and offers little for fantasy purposes. His next scheduled start is Monday against the White Sox.
