The Dolphins plan to “open up” the offense during the last seven games of the season.
We’re guessing that means more downfield passing from A.J. Feeley to McMichael, Chris Chambers, and Marty Booker. It can’t be bad news for fantasy owners.

Randy McMichael is being asked to block more since Jim Bates took over at coach.
Bates smartly is using McMichael to help block. McMichael, a true team player, is complaining about being made into “an offensive tackle.” This could limit McMichael’s upside down the stretch.

Dolphins tight end Randy McMichael was fuming after yesterday’s game because the ball wasn’t thrown to him.
Miami threw 51 times, but McMike only had two catches. We’ve noticed a direct pattern between complaining and getting the ball the next week. Look for McMichael to have a solid week 14.

The Dolphins change at offensive coordinator could lead to more production from tight end Randy McMichael.
New coordinator Chris Foerster was the team’s tight end coach and was very high on McMichael. The Dolphins also plan to use quicker dropbacks and shorter passing, which should help McMichael. He’s still a Top 10 tight end.

A decision on filing charges in the domestic violence case against Dolphins tight end Randy McMichael will not come for a few weeks.
If convicted, McMichael could face a league suspension.

The fact that charges were filed against both Randy McMichael and his wife regarding a domestic violence incident may help McMichael avoid jail time.
Both were arrested on Tuesday. McMichael was the one who called 911 on his pregant wife after they became involved in an altercation at their Broward County home. No court date has been set.

The Jets, Broncos, Seahawks, and Raiders have all shown interest in free agent TE Randy McMichael.
We can eliminate Denver from contention after they signed Daniel Graham. No visits are scheduled yet for McMichael. Jerramy Stevens and Eric Johnson are his competition on the open market.

The Seahawks are not interested in free agent Randy McMichael, despite a report that they were in the Miami Herald Wednesday.
The Jets and Raiders were reported to have interest and seem good fits.

Rams agreed to terms with TE Randy McMichael on a three-year contract.
A shocker after they took two first-day tight ends in 2006. But coach Scott Linehan knows McMike from Miami in 2005, when he caught 60 passes and McMichael is still young at 27. McMichael should start and be his usual steady self in fantasy leagues, so this crushes Joe Klopfenstein’s keeper value and makes Dominique Byrd’s release quite possible.

With Antonio Gates (foot) sidelined, Randy McMichael caught four passes for 51 yards in Sunday’s win over the Chiefs.
McMichael was targeted five times, with the lone miss coming on a crucial and ugly drop in the fourth quarter. The veteran appeared to have some gas left in the tank, taking a crossing pattern 26 yards in the second half. Gates’ owners looking for insurance could do worse, but the upside is capped by McMike’s 32-year-old body.
