Caleb Miller is expected to be the Bengals’ starting weakside linebacker while Rashad Jeanty (leg surgery) is out.
Here’s an early season IDP sleeper. Miller, a third-round pick in 2004, was productive in the preseason and could rack up tackles as teams go hard at the Bengals’ suspect front seven. Landon Johnson will move to the SAM.

SLB Rashad Jeanty (calf) hopes to return for the Bengals Week 6 game against the Chiefs.
Jeanty has been out following surgery in August and could go back to being the starter on the strong side. Ahmad Brooks (groin), Caleb Miller (back) and Landon Johnson (eye) could also be ready for the Cheifs, but the Bengals did not release an official injury report on their bye week.

Bengals LB Landon Johnson is not projected to start this season.
Rashad Jeanty (strong side), Ed Hartwell (weak), and Ahmad Brooks (middle) comprise Cincinnati’s first-string linebacker unit. Johnson will likely see quality action in the nickel defense this year but won’t be a draftable IDP.

Bengals SLB Rashad Jeanty had surgery on his lower left leg Wednesday.
It’s uncertain how much time he’ll miss. The Bengals upgraded their depth with Lemar Marshall, who is likely the new favorite to start Week 1. They could also kick Landon Johnson to the SAM and put Ed Hartwell on the weak side.

Bengals LB Rashad Jeanty (calf) participated in a full practice for the first time since undergoing surgery on August 31.
Jeanty was the Bengals projected starter on the strong-side before going down with the injury. The Bengals have not said what role he will have in week 7, though they remain thin at linebacker as Ahmad Brooks (groin) and Caleb Miller (back) continue to miss practice time.

Bengals LB Rashad Jeanty has been ruled out for Week 6.
Jeanty, who is recovering from August surgery, had hoped to bolster the ailing Cincinnati linebacker corps.

Rashad Jeanty is inactive for the Bengals on Saturday night.
Jeanty, who has been a key part of an improved Bengals’ run defense over the past five weeks, will be replaced by Corey Mays. Give Frank Gore a slight upgrade. The Bengals also declared DE Frostee Rucker, WR Marcus Maxwell, CB David Jones, C Dan Santucci, TE Nate Lawrie, and RT Willie Anderson inactive. Anderson’s return would have been a boost for the Cincy offense.
