Special teams coach Brian Schneider says the Raiders have no plans to kick to Reggie Bush on punt returns in Week 6.
Making Bush earn production between the tackles is always an opponent’s best bet, but too often special teams units take it as a personal challenge to kick to an explosive returner. Schneider’s goal is to kick out of bounds.

Reggie Bush carried eight times for 30 yards and caught four passes for 19 yards in the Saints’ intrasquad scrimmage Saturday.
Drew Brees was 10-of-16 for 83 yards and two INTs. Deuce McAllister, who split first-team reps with Bush, rushed for six yards on three carries.

Reggie Bush carried six times for 59 yards in the Saints’ preseason opener, highlighted by a 44-yard run.
On the long dash, Bush started left, saw there wasn’t a hole, and exploded, sweeping right around Tennessee defenders to the Titans’ 24-yard line. Bush also had two catches for ten yards.

Reggie Bush received roughly $26.2 million in guaranteed money and $51 million overall for his six-year contract.
After Vince Young signed, it was fairly easy for New Orleans to slot Bush’s total contract and guaranteed money between Young and Mario Williams. We can’t remember the top three picks earning such similar figures before.

Reggie Bush fielded punts and worked at wide receiver as he took part in his first training camp practice Tuesday.
He also took handoffs and met with the media. Bush is expected to share the backfield with Deuce McAllister in camp and the two could form a two-back set during the season.

Reggie Bush will start the Saints’ preseason opener Saturday.
Deuce McAllister (knee) will be held out for precautionary reasons. He’ll face former Rose Bowl foe Vince Young in the game.

The Associated Press reports the FBI has opened an investigation into the marketing firm that recruited Reggie Bush while at USC.
Bush’s lawyer David Cornwell said FBI agents interviewed him about “potential federal crimes” last week. Bush will meet with the FBI soon. Bush has thus far declined to be interviewed by NCAA and Pac-10 investigators.

Reggie Bush and Deuce McAllister at times lined up in the backfield together at Saints practice Friday.
“My leg feels good,” Bush confirmed. Coach Sean Payton, when asked about a “Thunder and Lightning” backfield combo earlier in the offseason, said he’d be open to the idea.

Reggie Bush was back on the field at Saints minicamp Friday.
His hamstring doesn’t appear to be an issue any more. Bush will pick up extra snaps with Deuce McAllister still hobbling.

Reggie Bush believes it’s just a matter of time before he’s used to return punts.
“Yeah, I do,” Bush said. “This is preseason. This is a chance for learning. I’m pretty sure they don’t want to overwhelm me right now. Just kind of break me in slowly but surely.” Coach Sean Payton is understandably a bit wary to expose Bush to punts, so only time will tell.
