Torbor

If Carlos Emmons doesn’t get healthy fast, we wouldn’t be surprised if his stay in New York lasted only one season.

The Dolphins have picked up Karlos Dansby and Tim Dobbins on the inside, leaving Torbor to earn $3.05 million as a special teamer in 2010. He hasn’t lived up to his contract since Bill Parcells signed him away from the Giants two years ago.

Torbor didn’t have much of a chance after the Dolphins signed Karlos Dansby and acquired Tim Dobbins via draft weekend trade. At age 29, Torbor can still help a team by providing linebacker depth and special teams help. The Dolphins just weren’t going to pay him $3.05 million to do that.

The incident occured early in practice and Torbor sat out the rest of the way. “Right now I don’t see me not playing,” said Torbor, who was headed for precautionary X-rays and is listed as questionable.

Torbor had 25 tackles and a pick in seven starts this year. Carlos Emmons is finally healthy again and should take Torbor’s place in the lineup.

That hurts the Giants pass rush as Kiwanuka is likely done for the season. LB Reggie Torbor will step in and Fred Robbins will see additional time.
