Elmore

A sixth-round pick of the Packers last year, Elmore was cut following a disappointing training camp. An undrafted free agent, McDaniel was waived by the Saints before final cuts.

According to Hall of Fame Packers beat reporter Bob McGinn, Elmore is looking like a rare miss for GM Ted Thompson. Transitioning from college end to NFL 3-4 outside linebacker isn’t as easy as it’s made it to be, and Elmore was never an elite athlete. We suspect he’d get claimed if waived at final cuts.

Elmore isn’t as explosive as No. 42 pick and college teammate Brooks Reed, but he was a significantly more productive college player. At 6'4/255, Elmore racked up a U-of-A high 11 sacks and 13 tackles for loss as a senior, also forcing one fumble. This is a value pick at a pretty needy position in Green Bay. A college end, Elmore will play outside ‘backer in Green Bay.
