    Lions signed P Robert Malone.
Punting for the Bucs, Malone posted a net average of 36.5 yards over the final 12 weeks of the 2010 season. He’ll fill in Sunday with Ryan Donahue battling a quadriceps injury.
  • Lions waived P Robert Malone.
Malone averaged an impressive 49 yards per punt against the Bears, but hangtime and directional kicking were major issues. Devin Hester returned three of Malone’s punts for 122 yards and a touchdown.
  • Jets signed P Robert Malone and waived DT Isaako Aaitui.
Malone will handle the Week 1 punting duties after the release of T.J. Conley. Malone has averaged 42.2 yards on 57 punts with the Bucs and Lions the past two seasons.
  • FA Defensive Back #42
Chargers signed SS Corey Lynch, OT Phil Trautwein, and P Robert Malone.
Lynch started eight of 32 games with the Bucs the past two seasons, but he’s essentially a special teamer. Trautwein will vie for the final offensive line spot. Malone will be a golfing buddy for standout punter Mike Scifres until he’s released after training camp.
  • Jets P Robert Malone set a franchise record for best gross punting average in a season at 45.8 yards.
Malone’s net was just 38.8 yards, but that had a lot to do with the Jets’ woeful performance on coverage. He’ll be back in 2013 and still has room to improve as he enters his age-25 season.
  • Jets released P Robert Malone and re-signed P Ryan Quigley.
Malone’s net punt average of 37.1 yards ranked 28th in the league. Quigley was with the Jets in camp.
  • Bucs signed P Robert Malone.
A rookie, Malone beat out Brent Bowden and T.J. Conley for the right to replace Chris Bryan.
  • Bucs waived P Robert Malone and FB Rendrick Taylor.
They also waived/injured G Brandon Carter. The 23-year-old Malone knew his days were numbered when the Bucs overpaid Michael Koenen to take over as punter. Malone was the Bucs’ primary punter for much of last season.
