Panthers G Roger Allen is recovering from sports-hernia surgery, but is expected to be ready for camp.
An undrafted free agent in 2009, Allen has appeared in only two career games, and none in the past two seasons. He’s just a camp body.
  • Buccaneers promoted OG Roger Allen from the practice squad.
He’s taking Carl Nicks’ (toe, injured reserve) roster spot. A fourth-year undrafted free agent, Allen hasn’t appeared in a game since 2009. His snaps will be extremely limited.
  • Bucs signed G Roger Allen, G Howard Barbieri and LB Dom DeCicco.
Allen appeared in four games for the Bucs last season, but will likely be a camp body now that Carl Nicks (toe) is expected to be ready for Week 1. Tampa waived CB Mason Robinson, T Brice Schwab and T Jason Weaver to make room.
  • Roger Allen is expected to start at left guard for the Rams on Sunday.
Jacob Bell (hamstring), Mark Setterstrom (triceps) and Richie Incognito (released) are all sidelined or gone. Allen, an undrafted rookie out of Division II Missouri Western State, got his first NFL action last week. The Niners are licking their chops.
  • Rams OG Roger Allen suffered a torn ACL during the season finale.
An undrafted rookie out of Missouri Western State, Allen was a fringe player forced into action with Jacob Bell and Mark Setterstrom injured and Richie Incognito banished to Buffalo. Allen will need to “pre-hab” for a month before undergoing surgery. He isn’t going to play next season.
  • Rams waived OG Roger Allen.
Allen tore his ACL in Week 17 last season. The former undrafted free agent out of Missouri Western State will continue his rehab and look to land on a roster in 2011.
  • FA Quarterback #4
Saints signed QB Sean Canfield, TE Tyler Lorenzen, OG Brian De la Puente, RB Chris Taylor, WR Andy Tanner, CB Mark Parson, OG Roger Allen, and FB Jed Collins to reserve/future contracts.
Some needed futures signings to spice up a slllloooow news day. Every player here finished the season on New Orleans’ practice squad. Canfield was on and off the squad all year. He was a 2010 seventh-round pick.
