Sage Rosenfels could start his first NFL game this week.
With Jay Fiedler suffering broken ribs and A.J. Feeley foggy after a concussion, the Sage Rosenfels experience may only be 6 days away.

Texans signed QB Quinn Gray to a one-year, $645,000 contract.
Gray, 28, went 2-2 as a starter in place of David Garrard (ankle) last year. His TD:INT ratio was 10:5 and YPA a decent 6.8, but Gray completed only 55.6% of his passes. His accuracy is his biggest downfall. Still, the athletic former Jaguar is capable of being an above average No. 2 quarterback. The Vikings offered a third-round pick for current Texans backup Sage Rosenfels in late February. Expect talks to rekindle on or before draft day.

The Raiders and Vikings are “discussing the availability” of Sage Rosenfels, according to Mike Lombardi of the National Football Post.
A third-stringer in Minnesota, Rosenfels would be a significant upgrade in Oakland over JaMarcus Russell and Bruce Gradkowski. According to Lombardi -- a former Raiders personnel man with close ties to Al Davis -- the Vikings will only trade Rosenfels if they are certain Brett Favre is coming back. Rosenfels could be a fallback plan if Oakland misses out on Donovan McNabb.

Matt Moore was awful in his first start for the Dolphins on Monday, completing just 16-of-34 passes for 204 yards with no touchdowns and two interceptions.
Yes, it was his first start, but it was startling to see him miss guys that were directly in his field of vision and open by miles. You’re not going to hear much in the way of a quarterback controversy because of the name value of the Jets defense and the fact that Sage Rosenfels is still learning the ropes, but Moore did everything he could to open the door. If he struggles against a Denver team allowing a 29th-worst 8.4 YPA, he could lose his job quickly.

Vikings agreed to terms with QB Sage Rosenfels on a two-year contract.
Racked by a mysterious illness last season, Rosenfels was cut by both the Giants and Dolphins before being claimed off waivers by the Vikings in December. A career clipboard holder, Rosenfels recently celebrated his 34th birthday, and has attempted zero passes since the end of the 2008 season. He’ll provide veteran insurance behind Christian Ponder and Joe Webb.

The Vikings and free agent QB Sage Rosenfels reportedly have mutual interest in a new contract.
There was once a time where Rosenfels had a legitimate claim as one of the top-32 QBs in the league, but he hasn’t thrown a regular-season pass since 2008. He’ll slot in behind Christian Ponder and Joe Webb if he re-signs with the Vikes.

Dolphins waived QB Sage Rosenfels from the non-football illness list.
The Texans are reportedly content with their three quarterbacks, but that will be tested with Rosenfels now available for the price of a waiver claim. Rosenfels has three years of experience in coach Gary Kubiak’s offense and would be an immediate upgrade on rookie T.J. Yates if he’s over the mysterious blood infection that sent him to the NFI list in late October.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Sage Rosenfels is healthy, and that the mystery illness that landed him on the non-football illness list before his release was mono.
Rosenfels’ player rep Rick Smith has also confirmed he’s back to full health. Yahoo Sports’ Mike Silver lists the Vikings, Cowboys, Titans and Bears as teams who might have interest in Rosenfels, but believes he’ll most likely clear waivers, allowing him to sign with whomever he wants beginning on Monday.

Vikings claimed QB Sage Rosenfels off waivers from the Dolphins.
Rosenfels spent 2009 in Minnesota, but he’s being claimed as a backup more because Joe Webb appears to be moving to wideout. Rosenfels should soon claim the No. 2 quarterback job behind rookie starter Christian Ponder. The Texans were rumored to have some interest in Rosenfels, but the Vikings had a higher waiver priority. Houston will move forward with T.J. Yates and Jake Delhomme.

The Houston Chronicle’s John McClain reports the Texans have no interest in QB Sage Rosenfels, waived by the Dolphins on Thursday.
"[Coach Gary] Kubiak likes T.J. Yates,” McClain offers by way of explanation. Kubiak is also comfortable with Jake Delhomme as the No. 2 QB because he’s thrown well, picked up the offense quickly, and already embraced a mentoring role with Yates. Kubiak may revisit the issue in a couple of weeks if Yates falls flat on his face against two contenders the next two weeks.
