He should be safe to use at New England for next Sunday.

And Moss’ disappointing season continues, perhaps a function of this hamstring issue that has bothered him since the start of the preseason. Wayne Chrebet will start in Moss’ place Sunday, and rookie Jerricho Cotchery will dress in his place.

It shouldn’t be a concern. Moss has a good match-up this week versus San Francisco.

He’s listed as questionable, but is beginning to sound unlikely to play. “If he can’t go, we’ll have to spread the ball around,” coach Herm Edwards said. Fantasy owners shouldn’t count on Moss this weekend, but check back Sunday morning to make sure.

It was obvious Moss was not yet right physically. Moss owners may want to sit him until he can prove himself healthy.

He won’t return punts until he’s better. If Ty Law isn’ back Moss could still have a solid day versus the Patriots.

He has one year left on his deal. After disappearing for large stretches of this season, the Jets may risk going into the final year of his deal without extending an offer.

We’ll only be concerned if they miss preseason games. It shouldn’t be a concern.

Moss has connections in Oakland, with Al Saunders running the offense and Jason Campbell quarterbacking. While the fit makes sense on paper, the Raiders have been awfully hesitant to block young receivers such as Darrius Heyward-Bey. Coach Hue Jackson acknowledged as much a couple of weeks ago when asked about bringing Chad Ochocinco.

The official stats list Moss with only 46 yards, but have him on record in the play-by-play with a 37-yard catch and a 23-catch, both of which we also have documented. Look for an official scoring change. Moss made great individual efforts on both plays, but wasn’t thrown to enough.
