Redskins placed LG Shawn Lauvao on injured reserve with a torn ACL, ending his season.
The Redskins have also confirmed the season-long loss of RG Brandon Scherff (pectoral). They are catastrophic blows for an offense built around running the ball and hiding Alex Smith. That formula might now have to go out the window, which is extra bad since deep threat Paul Richardson (shoulder) has also been lost for the year. Stunningly injury prone, Lauvao will be a free agent at season’s end. He turned 31 last month.

Redskins LG Shawn Lauvao is expected to miss time with a calf injury.
Lauvao is part of a Redskins group of players that is always injured. C Chase Roullier is shifting to left guard in Lauvao’s absence with Tony Bergstrom sliding in at the pivot.

Redskins LG Shawn Lauvao (knee) was wheelchaired off the field in the first quarter of Week 9 versus Atlanta and will not return.
It’s especially notable because Washington is already without stud LT Trent Williams (thumb surgery). And RT Morgan Moses limped off a few plays later. The Skins can’t afford to lose so many linemen due to their run-heavy approach.

Browns RG Shawn Lauvao left Sunday’s game against the Seahawks with a knee injury.
Lauvao is questionable to return. He’s been replaced by John Greco.

Browns RG Shawn Lauvao (knee) has resumed practicing.
Lauvao is working with the first-team offense, so he should be good to go for this week’s game against the 49ers’ stout run defense. The Browns’ rushing attack is hands-off for fantasy purposes this week.

Browns RG Shawn Lauvao’s 2013 salary jumped from $575,000 to $1.323 million based on rookie-deal incentives.
Lauvao has started all 32 games over the last two seasons. He’s an athletic lineman with a nasty attitude, which makes him a solid run blocker. Lauvao was a third-round pick out of Arizona State in 2010, and he’s entering the final year of his contract. Cleveland has one of the better offensive lines in the league.

Browns RG Shawn Lauvao (ankle) will not practice Wednesday or Thursday.
It doesn’t look like Lauvao will be ready for Sunday’s game against the Ravens and that is awful news for the Browns. Backup Oneil Cousins turned in an epically atrocious performance in Week 1, committing four penalties and serving as a turnstile in the run game. Lauvao, who has been out of his walking boot for about a week, can’t get back soon enough.

The Cleveland Plain Dealer expects RG Shawn Lauvao (ankle) to return in Week 3 against the Vikings.
Lauvao has already been ruled out for Sunday’s game, but is on track to return this month. The Browns will go with struggling backup Oneil Cousins for at least one more week. Lauvao will serve as a much needed upgrade in run-blocking when healthy.

Browns RG Shawn Lauvao (ankle) returned to practice Wednesday.
It’s his first full practice of the season. Lauvao missed three games after undergoing ankle surgery in early August, but is now on track to play in Week 4. He’ll immediately regain his starting job from fill-in Oniel Cousins.

Browns RG Shawn Lauvao (ankle) is hoping to make his season debut against the Bills Thursday.
Lauvao sustained a true high ankle sprain roughly two months ago. He was able to split first-team reps with fill-in starter Oniel Cousins on Monday. Getting Cousins out of the lineup would be fantastic news for the entire Browns offense. He’s graded out as PFF’s No. 68 guard among 70 qualifiers through four weeks.
