With Enner Valencia, Diafra Sakho, and Mauro Zarate all providing good service up front, their Englishman became an afterthought while on the injury list.
He’s an afterthought no more. Andy Carroll, with his first goals (yes, plural) since March, reminded the league just how dangerous he is in the box, and he gave the Hammers all three points with both goals in a 3-1 win over Swansea City.
Carroll becomes the first West Ham player to win this award, and opposing teams will have to return him to their game plan when the Hammers come to town.
