Coke doesn’t score a ton of goals, but he saved a special pair for a big, big day.

Sevilla scored three second half goals, getting two from its veteran right back and captain, in lifting a third-straight UEFA Cup with a 3-1 comeback win over Liverpool in Basel on Wednesday.

Coke took advantage of the sometimes absent-minded defending of Liverpool left back Alberto Moreno on the second goal after darting onto a Vitolo dribble to hammer the first goal home.

And he took a little poke at Liverpool’s fan advantage in Switzerland.

From ESPN.com:

“We knew we were not very many [Sevilla] fans,” he said. “But each one is worth four of them. Thanks to everyone who believed in us, who paid the money to be here. This is for the fans to enjoy.”

Coke was fantastic, as were most of his teammates in a dominant second half. Three Europa League titles in as many seasons is both a logistical and on-pitch improbability. Kudos to them.
