Transfer rumor roundup: Miroslav Klose to MLS, Samuel Eto’o agrees with Sampdoria
The January transfer window is past the halfway point, and as is expected in football, rumors are abundant on the subject of certain players’ whereabouts for the ensuing months.
To start off, the possible transfer of Southampton defender Nathaniel Clyne was noted earlier, and it’s either the improbability of Kevin Strootman’s transfer or United’s massive spending budget that has spurred such speculation.
Lazio striker and Germany’s leading scorer Miroslav Klose is looking for a move to MLS, based on a piece from German paper Bild. Klose has totaled three goals and three assists this year, but has been dissatisfied with his lack of playing time. Last May, he was also weighing a transfer to MLS.
In what may be a legitimate murmur, Samuel Eto’o has agreed to a move to Italy with Sampdoria, and has been given a two-a-half-year deal with the option to coach at its end. The Daily Mail says the former Barcelona forward could take the pitch for il Doria in their match against Inter next week.
Over to Serie A, Football Italia has reported that Inter and Fiorentina have joined Arsenal, Tottenham and Chelsea as possible suitors for AS Roma striker Mattia Destro, although Rudi Garcia believes the Italian will remain in Rome. The bids for him are believed to number around $30.29 million (£20 million).

Roma has showed interest in Chelsea winger Mohamed Salah, and supposedly is preparing an offer around $17.42 million (£11.5 million). Other sides seeking the 22-year-old’s signature are Inter, Napoli and Turkish team Besiktas. The Blues won’t take any proposal below Salah’s £13 million buyout clause.
Liverpool is readying an $17.42 million (£11.5 million) bid for West Ham’s Alex Song. The Hammers will have to compete with Manchester United and West Ham for the midfielder, who is on loan from Barcelona right now.

Manchester United midfielder Adnan Januzaj was linked to a loan move to Serie A side Genoa, with other prospects in Everton, Aston Villa, Paris Saint-Germain. and David Moyes-led Real Sociedad. Nonetheless, despite Januzaj’s downturn in playing time, Louis van Gaal has blocked the 19-year-old’s exit, refusing to send him to another squad.
