WATCH: Louis van Gaal sees chances, wants Manchester United’s attack to convert them

Perhaps this is Louis van Gaal declining to pile on, because Manchester United’s problems in attack go beyond merely finishing chances. Against arguably the least-talented team in the Premier League, the Red Devils only took seven shots, with a mere two finding the gloves of Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton. Despite having only 36 percent of the ball, the Clarets were able to best both of those numbers, taking nine shots while testing David de Gea three times.

After today’s 0-0 at Turf Moor, the United boss was more focused on converting chances, but generating them should also be a concern, too. Two shots on target wouldn’t be acceptable against Chelsea, let alone a newly promoted club.
