Nottingham Forest had to be patient — striker Igor Jesus in particular — but the Tricky Trees finally got their goal late in the second half and escaped Molineux Stadium with a 1-0 victory over Wolves on Wednesday.

Jesus thought he had scored in the 41st minute, but winger Dan Ndoye was standing in an offside position and obstructing the view of goalkeeper Sam Johnstone. After a lengthy video review, the goal was disallowed. It was another close call in the 72nd minute, when Jesus and Johnstone met one another in the air, both trying to get on the end of Omari Hutchinson’s looping cross. Jesus got their first and thumped a header into an open net.
The victory sees Forest (15 points) sit tight in 16th in the Premier League table, but Sean Dyche’s side is now just two points behind 15th-place Fulham and four off a whole host of mid-table sides. Wolves (2 points) are still last, still nine points away from safety. Their next win will be their first.
