Nickeil Alexander-Walker shot 0-of-8 from the field in Wednesday’s Game 5 loss to the Thunder, scoring zero points with two rebounds and three assists.
While Alexander-Walker’s play for the duration of the playoffs appeared to raise his ceiling heading into unrestricted free agency, Game 5 was a dud. He missed all eight of his shot attempts on the night, going scoreless for the first time this postseason. Alexander-Walker’s fantasy value next season depends on where he lands. If Minnesota can work something out and re-sign him, he’ll be a deep-league option at best after underwhelming from a fantasy standpoint. However, with the Timberwolves having Rob Dillingham and Terrence Shannon Jr., the decision could be made that Alexander-Walker is too expensive to retain.

Terrence Shannon Jr. had 15 points (5-of-8 FGs), two rebounds, one assist, one steal and one three-pointer in Game 3 against the Thunder on Saturday.
Shannon Jr. hadn’t played more than three minutes in another other playoff game this year, but the 24-year-old shooting guard provided a spark off the bench as the Timberwolves took a 31-point lead into halftime. Shannon Jr. also got some run in the fourth quarter with the game out of reach, but it was a great story to see the inexperienced player outscore MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander on Saturday.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #00
Terrence Shannon Jr. (groin) is available to play against the Bucks on Tuesday.
Shannon Jr. will be back in the rotation following a five-game absence. However, he wasn’t playing many minutes prior to this injury. He may play a small reserve role, but it won’t be large enough to provide much value.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #00
Terrence Shannon Jr. (groin) is questionable for Tuesday’s game against the Bucks.
Shannon has missed Minnesota’s last five games with a strained groin, leaving the Timberwolves down an option on the wing. However, the rookie was not playing consistent rotation minutes before the injury, so his status does not impact active fantasy leagues.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #00
Terrence Shannon Jr. (groin) is out for Saturday’s game against the 76ers.
Shannon will miss another game, but his absence does not impact fantasy basketball. Donte DiVincenzo and Nickeil Alexander-Walker will continue to handle the backup perimeter minutes.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #00
Terrence Shannon Jr. (groin) is out for Thursday’s game against the Grizzlies.
Shannon’s continued absence does not impact fantasy basketball, especially with Donte DiVincenzo returning from his one-game suspension.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #00
Terrence Shannon Jr. (groin) has been ruled out against the Nuggets on Tuesday.
Shannon Jr. will miss a third-straight game, but the difference in this one is that he won’t be given the questionable tag before being ruled out. Jaylen Clark and Nickeil Alexander-Walker will continue to take on a few extra minutes with Shannon Jr. sidelined.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #00
Terrence Shannon Jr. (groin) is out for Sunday’s game against the Pistons.
Shannon’s continued absence will not impact fantasy basketball, as he is not guaranteed rotation minutes when he is available to play. Jaylen Clark and Nickeil Alexander-Walker can absorb the few minutes that would have gone to Shannon.

Terrence Shannon Jr. (groin) is questionable for Sunday’s game against the Pistons.
Shannon was held out of Friday’s win over the Suns, but the rookie has not played more than 10 minutes in a game since early March. He’s unlikely to get the minutes needed to impact fantasy basketball if allowed to play on Sunday.
  • MIN Shooting Guard #00
Terrence Shannon Jr. (groin) is out for Friday’s game against the Suns.
Shannon has been downgraded from questionable to out, but his absence does not significantly impact fantasy basketball. The rookie’s minutes will likely be divided among Donte DiVincenzo, Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Jaylen Clark.
