Florida State redshirt sophomore RB Treshaun Ward rushed 14 times for 127 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 47-7 win over Duquesne.
Ward (5-foot-10, 192-pounds) led all Seminoles in rushing on Saturday while averaging 9.1 yards per carry against an overmatched Duquesne defense. Despite the impressive totals, Ward never rushed for more than 21 yards on any play, with his touchdowns coming from three and four yards out. He was one of three players to surpass the century mark for the Noles on Saturday with Trey Benson (11-105-1) and Lawrance Toafili (13-101-1) also getting a chance to rumble against the Dukes. Now 1-0, Florida State gets its first chance at real competition next Sunday night when they take on the LSU Tigers in Baton Rouge.
