Center Olivia Nelson-Ododa (back) is out for the Sun’s final regular season game against the Dream.
Nelson-Ododa will miss her sixth straight game and the final game of the season for her team while dealing with a back injury. In her place the Sun have turned to more minutes from second year forward Aaliyah Edwards and 6'0 French wing Mamignan Touré. In the Sun’s previous game also against the Dream, stretch four Haley Peters also played in extended minutes.
  • CON G #47
Sun guard Leïla Lacan (right eye) is doubtful for Monday’s game against the Liberty.
With under five minutes left in the third quarter on Saturday, Lacan got whacked in the eye by Angel Reese while the rookie Lacan was guarding Reese on the perimeter. As a result, Lacan left the game and was seen on the bench during the third quarter icing her right eye which had already developed a bruise and a bump underneath it. Assuming that Lacan doesn’t play on Monday, expect for Saniya Rivers to rejoin the Sun’s starting lineup, and Mamignan Touré will get some more run than she usually does.
  • Sun signed G Mamignan Touré to a seven-day contract.
Touré, who was in training camp with the Valkyries before being waived, is back in the WNBA on a seven-day contract. The 30-year-old has played professionally in France since 2012 and most recently represented her country at FIBA Women’s EuroBasket. Touré will provide additional perimeter depth as the Sun remain without the injured Marina Mabrey.
