    A.J. Ladwig will serve as the Marlins 27th man for Saturday’s doubleheader against the Braves.
    The 29-year-old hurler will be coming up from Double-A Pensacola to add a fresh arm to the Marlins staff for the twin bill. It’s the first trip to the show for Ladwig who has registered a 4.52 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 60/9 K/BB ratio over 79 2/3 innings in the minors this season.

    Ladwig was released by the Tigers earlier this month and didn’t take very long to find a new home in Florida. The 29-year-old righty will augment the Marlins’ minor-league starting pitching depth moving forward.

    Ladwig has spent the last eight years in the Tigers’ minor-league system since being drafted in the 11th round of the 2014 MLB Draft. The 29-year-old righty recorded a pedestrian 4.65 ERA, 1.13 WHIP and 87/18 K/BB ratio across 108 1/3 innings (24 appearances, 21 starts) between Double-A Erie and Triple-A Toledo last season. He’ll bolster the Tigers’ organizational starting pitching depth this upcoming season.
