Davis

Davis was a top twenty IDP linebacker this season. He’s the 13th Brown lost for the year.

The Buffalo News expects Sheppard to formally become the starter going forward. The Bills’ defense is getting gashed for 5.1 yards per carry through six games as they head into their bye.

Gailey confirmed Sheppard will begin taking the “majority of reps” at the position, replacing Andra Davis. Davis wasn’t getting it done on the interior, and Sheppard has flashed in limited snaps so far. He has 10 tackles on the season, but will be a candidate for 6-8 per week moving forward.

He’ll undergo an MRI Monday. The Browns D is a total mess at this point.

This is only a nugget for deep IDP leaguers; Paul Posluszny is a shoe-in to lead Buffalo in tackles. The inside linebacker adjacent him’s upside will be in the 80-tackle range. Mitchell will likely open 2010 as the No. 3 ILB.

He’s been a top 20-type IDP linebacker when healthy. The change to the 3-4 defense in Cleveland should not hurt him.

Williams is the favorite over Chaun Thompson to be Cleveland’s third inside linebacker behind starters D’Qwell Jackson and Andra Davis this season.

The former IDP stud is having a rough season after missing the preseason with an ankle injury. He’s often been criticized as a player who only gets tackles far from the line of scrimmage, so perhaps this benching is permanent.

Davis missed the preseason, but is back practicing. Expect the Steelers to run plenty against Cleveland and Davis to get a boatload of tackle chances.

Steinbach missed roughly three weeks with a knee sprain. ILB Andra Davis (ankle) will practice this week but won’t dress for the preseason finale.
