Williams spent training camp with the Chiefs this season. He’s back as insurance in case Derrick Johnson (hamstring) can’t go Sunday.

Williams is the favorite over Chaun Thompson to be Cleveland’s third inside linebacker behind starters D’Qwell Jackson and Andra Davis this season.

Fill-in starter Antwaan Peek (foot) is also banged up, so Cleveland may be forced to turn to Chaun Thompson or normal ILB Leon Williams this week.

The former Miami Hurricane has proven too good to keep off the field with Andra Davis battling ineffectiveness and an ankle injury. Williams has 30 tackles in the last five weeks and is a nice target in deeper IDP leagues.

Davis has become somewhat injury prone of late, as his ’06 season ended after he suffered a concussion in the last few weeks. Leon Williams will fill in.

McGinest made one tackle, and figures to rotate with Antwan Peek, Leon Williams, and Chaun Thompson going forward. He shouldn’t be of IDP help.

He was still outproduced by Leon Williams, who posted seven tackles (all solo). Davis had five (four solo) and isn’t an option in shallow IDP leagues.

Browns GM Phil Savage also said on a radio show that Jackson will be out “probably for at least a few weeks.” Jackson reportedly has a high ankle sprain. Leon Williams and Andra Davis will be starting in his place.

However, he did not start and played in a rotation with Andra Davis and Leon Williams. Jackson didn’t record a tackle. The Browns could continue to use all three inside linebackers, which would limit their IDP potential.

“If they can’t practice it’s tough for them to expect for them to play,” coach Romeo Crennel said. Veteran Andra Davis and second-year player Leon Williams will likely start against Seattle. Jackson is Cleveland’s best inside linebacker, so give the Seahawks’ running game an upgrade.
