    49ers released CB B.W. Webb.
He was expendable after the team made him available for depth purposes in the second preseason game. Webb has still never played for the same team in consecutive seasons.

49ers signed CB B.W. Webb, formerly of the Bengals.
Webb signed with the Cardinals in August of 2020 but was released before the start of the season. He has never played for the same team in consecutive seasons but will add much-needed depth to a San Francisco secondary that is currently missing Dontae Johnson (foot), Tim Harris (groin), and Emmanuel Moseley (reserve/COVID-19 list). All three should be ready for the beginning of the season but Webb could start in a pinch. The veteran corner logged 25 starts from 2018 to 2019.

  • FA Defensive Back #35
Cardinals signed CB B.W. Webb, formerly of the Bengals, to a one-year contract.
Now on the wrong side of 30, Webb made 12 starts for the league-worst Bengals last season. The Cardinals are collecting veteran fliers at corner after Robert Alford was lost for the season with a torn pectoral.

    Bengals released CB B.W. Webb.
Cincinnati made two rare splashes in free agency yesterday bringing in DT D.J. Reader and CB Trae Waynes, but that means they need to trim the fat off their current roster to make room. Webb is one of the first casualties. This release should lead to Webb signing with his seventh team in seven years, which has got to be close to a record.

Bengals signed CB B.W. Webb, formerly of the Giants, to a three-year contract.
A 13-game starter for the Giants last season, he will be reuniting with DBs coach Lou Anarumo, who is now the Bengals’ defensive coordinator. Those starts were a career high for a player who entered 2018 with just 10 to his name. Ideally for the Bengals, Webb would not be higher than third in snaps in the team’s cornerback group, and preferably lower.

The Dallas Morning News expects fourth-round CB B.W. Webb to “make an impact” this season.
Webb wasn’t drafted to be a starter, but he should see immediate playing time in nickel and dime packages. The Cowboys view Webb as the eventual replacement for current slot corner Orlando Scandrick. Webb has generated a ton of buzz since minicamp and shouldn’t have any trouble finding his way on the field as a rookie.

Cowboys agreed to terms with No. 114 overall pick CB B.W. Webb on a four-year contract.
The small-school prospect generated a ton of buzz at Cowboys rookie minicamp. Owner Jerry Jones said he expects Webb to see immediate snaps in nickel and dime packages. He’s also a capable return man. Productive in college and at the Combine (4.51 40-yard dash, 40.5-inch vertical leap), Webb’s main drawback is his size (5-10, 184). He’ll likely need to adjust to the NFL’s size and speed on special teams before playing meaningful snaps on defense.

Cowboys fourth-round CB B.W. Webb stood out at rookie minicamp.
Cowboys.com’s Bryan Broaddus mentioned Webb on numerous occasions over the last few days, and owner/GM Jerry Jones talked Webb up in a radio interview. Jones expects Webb to see immediate snaps in nickel and dime packages. Slot CB Orlando Scandrick restructured his contract this offseason, but his salary spikes to $3.5 million in 2014 and $5 million in 2015-2016. He may not see any of that money.

Cowboys selected William & Mary CB B.W. Webb with the No. 114 overall pick.
Webb (5-10, 184) set a school record with 48 consecutive starts, intercepting 11 passes for the Tribe. He earned 2012 Co-Special Teams Player of the Year in the Colonial Athletic Conference, averaging 11.2 yards per punt return. Webb ran 4.51 in Indy with a 40.5-inch vertical and 11-foot broad jump, demonstrating lower-body explosion. Webb has starting-caliber attributes, but is undersized and plays like it, often shying from contact. He’ll fight for snaps on special teams as a rookie.

    Saints signed CB B.W. Webb.
New Orleans needs help at corner after losing Delvin Breaux (broken leg) for at least six weeks, but Webb is not the answer. The 2013 fourth-rounder has started just two games in his career, both for the Titans last season.
