Coach Pete Carroll acknowledged Thursday that LG Robert Gallery (knee) has a better chance to play this week than Sidney Rice (shoulder).
Carroll had been trying to keep an optimistic outlook on Rice, but now looks like there’s a better chance that he sits out. Ben Obomanu is set to start opposite Mike Williams in that case. Surely you have better fantasy options in Week 1.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Ben Obomanu caught six passes for 51 yards with a touchdown in Sunday’s win over the Giants.
With Mike Williams (concussion) sidelined, Obomanu was in all two-wide sets. His 11-yard touchdown came on a designed swing pass that was executed perfectly. After Tarvaris Jackson (pectoral) left the game, Obomanu slowed down. Still, he’s more effective getting open and making plays after the catch than Williams. The Seahawks are going to have decisions to make with both Obomanu and Doug Baldwin showing well.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Ben Obomanu caught four passes for 107 yards in Sunday’s loss to the Bengals.
Starting in place of an inactive Mike Williams, Obomanu impressively beat Leon Hall for a few big gains. His best play was a 55-yard bomb in which Hall anticipated a back-shoulder throw and Obomanu kept tracking the ball. Still, Obomanu saw just four targets all day as Tarvaris Jackson zeroed in on Sidney Rice. Obomanu is just a desperation play going forward.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Ben Obomanu was held to 28 yards on two receptions against the Eagles in Week 13.
Obomanu started opposite Golden Tate, but he drew just two targets on Tarvaris Jackson’s 16 pass attempts. He’s not worth a fantasy roster spot in a run-dominant offense.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Seahawks WR Ben Obomanu played just eight snaps against the Eagles in Week 13.
Taking over as the No. 1 receiver with Sidney Rice out, Golden Tate easily led the way among Seattle wideouts with 51 snaps. Per Pro Football Focus, the rest of the snap counts are as follows: Big Mike Williams 27, Doug Baldwin 12, and Deon Butler 10. Tate is the only one worth carrying in standard-scoring leagues right now.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Golden Tate led all Seahawks receivers once again with 51 snaps in Week 15.
It’s Tate, not rookie Doug Baldwin (29 snaps), who is Seattle’s No. 1 receiver with Sidney Rice out. Ben Obomanu played 40 snaps while fourth receiver Deon Butler managed just 14. A tough matchup awaits in Week 16 against the 49ers defense.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Seahawks WR Ben Obomanu came out of Week 11 with a sore knee and ankle.
Obomanu hasn’t been ruled out for this week’s game against the Redskins, but coach Pete Carroll didn’t sound optimistic. Sidney Rice, Doug Baldwin and Mike Williams figure to be the Seahawks’ top three wideouts Sunday.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Ben Obomanu caught one pass for 13 yards in Seattle’s Week 14 win.
One week after playing just eight snaps against the Eagles, Obomanu wasn’t any more involved in the game-plan, drawing one target. He’s off the radar in all formats of fantasy.
  • FA Wide Receiver #15
Ben Obomanu sustained a knee strain in the Seahawks’ Week 16 loss to the 49ers.
Obomanu had two catches for 20 yards before leaving. The severity of his injury is not currently known.
  • FA Wide Receiver #17
Big Mike Williams started the Seahawks’ Week 10 game against Baltimore, but did not catch a pass and was targeted just once.
Rotation partner Ben Obomanu caught 1-of-2 targets for ten yards. This is a situation to avoid completely in fantasy leagues. Neither Williams nor Obomanu is a full-time player, and they both lack big-play ability.
