Notre Dame +600 to win the ACC?

When it comes to futures bets, it’s paramount to buy the right team at the right price.

Heading into a Saturday showdown with No. 1 Clemson, Notre Dame is currently +600 at PointsBet Sportsbook to win the ACC Championship. The Irish have the luxury of sleeping in their own beds, playing at their hallowed stadium and facing a Tigers team without star quarterback Trevor Lawrence.

“This is their best shot,” one Vegas bookmaker told NBC Sports. “They dodged a bullet not having to see Lawrence this time around. But if they can’t take care of business at home against a true freshman quarterback, they’ll be hearing from the haters for the rest of the season."[[ad:athena]]

Lawrence was ruled out for the second straight week after testing positive for COVID-19 so freshman phenom DJ Uiagalelei gets the start under center. I’ve gone ‘round and ‘round this week with bookmakers about how many points the drop-off is between QB1 and QB2. Rex Beyers from the Westgate SuperBook said four points while others are closer to a full touchdown.

Either way, you would imagine the urgency is at an all-time high for the Irish in this spot. If they take care of business, their stock will continue to rise and an appearance in the ACC title game will be imminent. A marquee win against the top team in the country is impressive no matter what.

I still think Clemson has enough depth, skill, speed and talent to knock off Notre Dame without Lawrence. But if you – yeah, you! – like the Irish to win outright, you should do yourself a favor and put some pizza money on them at +600.

If Brian Kelly‘s bunch can pull off the upset, that price won’t be available on Monday.
