Aaron Judge Deserves a Boost

Aaron Judge

Aaron Judge

Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

Fantasy football guru Matthew Berry has joined the team and his two shows have you covered all season long. Spend weekdays at noon with the Fantasy Football Happy Hour and then, every Sunday at 11am getting ready for kickoff with the Fantasy Football Pregame. Watch both shows live on Peacock and catch replays for the weekday show on the NFL on NBC YouTube channel.

It may be the biggest bet an athlete has ever placed on himself…and won. Aaron Judge turned down a seven-year, $213.5 million dollar contract offer from Brian Cashman and the Yankees this past April.

He opted instead to play out the final year of his contract (he was awarded 17 million in arbitration) and become a free agent this winter.

The bet was that he could pile up enough stats this season to warrant one of, if not the richest contract in MLB history despite being 30 years old.

Well, lets take a look at those stats and where they rank in all of Major League Baseball with two weeks left in the regular season.

Home Runs: 60 Rank: 1st

RBI: 128 Rank: 1st

AVG: .316* Rank 1st

Runs: 123 Rank 1st

OBP: .419 Rank: 1st

SLG: .703 Rank: 1st

OPS: 1.122 Rank: 1st

*ranks first in the American League (4th in MLB)
