It is close to amazing that the San Diego Padres are still in possession of a wild card berth considering all their struggles at the plate. That said, they are 6-4 in their last ten and still holding a two-game edge over the Milwaukee Brewers. Tonight, Joe Musgrove and the Padres (-171) host Merrill Kelly and the Arizona Diamondbacks (+140).

Up the coast in Northern California, Oakland takes to the field against the Atlanta Braves. The Athletics have been especially apathetic of late while the Braves continue their push to win the NL East. Kyle Wright and the Braves (-226) against Cole Irvin and the Athletics (+185).

Tonight, on the diamond the EDGE MLB analysts have done a deep dive into the odds markets for these two MLB games. They have found two plays from each game. They are going head-to-head in a duel of sorts to see which game can produce a bigger payday.

The EDGE team of MLB analysts have paired up as follows: John Venezia (@_JohnnyVTV) and Vaughn Dalzell (@VmoneySports) have joined for Parlay #1 and Drew Silva (@drewsilv) and DJ Short (@djshort) have combined efforts for Parlay #2.

As mentioned, enjoy the plays individually or as parlays with a boost courtesy of PointsBet.

Parlay #1: Arizona Diamondbacks @ San Diego Padres

Arizona Diamondbacks ML (+142)

and Merrill Kelly Under 4.5 Ks vs. San Diego

This parlay has been boosted from +320 to +390 courtesy of PointsBet.

Vaughn Dalzell (VmoneySports) and John Venezia (@_JohnnyVTV):

Merrill Kelly has only allowed one run in 10 innings against the Padres this season. His sparkling 2.74 ERA and .188 OBA on the road sets Arizona up in a great spot for the upset.

San Diego’s offense has been shockingly underwhelming since the acquisition of Juan Soto and Josh Bell at the Deadline. Since the All-Star Break, the team is hitting just .240. That ranks in the bottom half of baseball…but the situation has gotten worse as in the last seven days the team batting average is a paltry .188. The icing on the cake is Arizona is playing well of late winning their last two and eight of their last ten.

After nine-straight games of five-plus strikeouts and six or more in the past five starts, Merrill Kelly‘s prop opens at O/U 4.5 Ks on the road versus San Diego.

He should be one of the most bet K Props to the Over tonight, so we will fade that versus the Padres. On the road, Kelly has 54 strikeouts over 72.1 innings (0.74 Ks per inning) compared to 88 strikeouts over 92.1 innings at home (0.95 Ks per inning). He went 6.0 innings at San Diego earlier this year and totaled five strikeouts after 7 Ks in 4.0 innings of the season-opener against the Padres.

This will be the third meeting of the season for the Padres vs. Kelly and I like him to go Under Five Ks. Kelly is 9-5 to the Under 4.5 Ks on the road this season.

Parlay #2: Atlanta Braves @ Oakland Athletics

Kyle Wright o5.5K (-140) vs. Athletics

and Austin Riley over 0.5 RBI (+105) vs. Athletics

This parlay has been boosted from +270 to +320 courtesy of PointsBet.

DJ Short (@djshort) and Drew Silva (@drewsilv):

This feels like an easy call. Kyle Wright has been on a roll with back-to-back scoreless starts, and he should keep it going tonight against the weak-hitting Oakland lineup. He has reached at least six strikeouts in each of his last three outings and Oakland has struck out 30 percent of the time over the past 30 days.

Austin Riley is having an MVP-like campaign for the defending World Series champions and has been especially lethal against left-handed pitching, boasting a .364/.449/.763 slash line versus southpaws. Batting in the heart of the Braves’ lineup Tuesday with lefty Cole Irvin on the mound for the A’s, Riley should have multiple opportunities to do damage as he pushes closer to the 100 RBI mark for the season.

Again, play these individually or as parlays with a Boost from PointsBet.

Enjoy the night in baseball and enjoy the Late Sweat Duel.
