Dodgers a -200 favorite in World Series

And then there were two.

Even after a pandemic-shortened regular season and an absolute gauntlet of a postseason that was supposed to create a wacky World Series, baseball’s two best teams will meet for the championship.

Both the Los Angeles Dodgers and Tampa Bay Rays survived a Game 7 in their last series and now the National League wins leader (43) will meet the American League wins leader (40).

PointsBet Sportsbook is dealing Los Angeles as a -200 favorite in the Fall Classic, which implies a 67 percent chance of probability. Forever the underdog, Tampa Bay comes back at +160.[[ad:athena]]

“It’s going to be tough to slow that momentum,” one Vegas oddsmaker told NBC Sports. “The Dodgers are feeling themselves right now. When you rally back from a 3-1 series deficit and win Game 7 the way they did, the confidence and swagger goes through the roof. That’s going to be a very tough team to beat.”

Red Sox legend David Ortiz knows that feeling all too well. He echoed almost the exact same sentiments on FOX’s postgame show last night. Ortiz and the Red Sox overcame a 3-0 deficit to the Yankees in the 2004 American League Championship Series, then made quick work of the Cardinals in the World Series with a sweep.

Ortiz explained to the viewers “there was no way we were losing.”

We’ll find out soon if the Dodgers can successfully follow that blueprint.

Other betting markets at PointsBet include World Series MVP. Dodgers star Mookie Betts (+800) is the favorite, followed by Clayton Kershaw (+900), Tyler Glasnow (+1000), Cody Bellinger (+1000), Walker Buehler (+1000), Randy Arozarena (+1200) and Corey Seager (+1200).

The series handicap is Los Angeles -1.5 games (-105) and Tampa Bay +1.5 games (-130).
