The NBA Finals tip-off tonight with Game 1 in Phoenix. PointsBet currently has the Suns as a -200 favorite with the Bucks coming back at +170.

The big question surrounding Game 1 of the NBA Finals will be the status of Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo. The former NBA MVP is trying to return from a hyperextended knee that caused him to miss Games 5 and 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals.
PointsBet opened this game up with the Suns as a 6-point favorite, but after Giannis’ status changed from doubtful to questionable the spread has dropped a half point. I can see Giannis trying to play tonight with this being his first trip to the NBA Finals, so of course he wants to be there for his teammates.

If you are going to bet the spread on this game, since we will not have a word on the status of Giannis until closer to tip off, I would not do it until we have all the injury information. I will not be making a spread bet pre game for Game 1.
The Total in this game opened up at 217, but right now PointsBet has it at 219.5 juiced to the Over at -115 and It looks like this number will continue to move up.
During this year’s playoffs, the Suns are 9-7 to the Under overall and 4-4 at home this postseason. Meanwhile, the Bucks are 10-6-1 to Under overall and 5-3-1 as the road team.
Despite the trends pointing to the Under, sharps and public bettors are both backing the Over. Even though I’m getting the worst of the number, I’m backing the Over.
