We have a full slate of NBA games to sweat tonight. The Atlanta Hawks and the Brooklyn Nets play in the marquee matchup of the night. The Nuggets and Grizzlies run it back and the red-hot Bulls are in Philadelphia to play the 76ers. The Trail Blazers are in Cleveland, and the Boston Celtics look to rebound in Orlando.

Portland Trail Blazers vs. Cleveland Cavaliers (+5.5) Total: 220

Public perception is such a huge part of sports betting. At first glance, this may look like an easy victory for the Trail Blazers. The Trail Blazers are a playoff team with super-star players while the Cavs are a young team trying to find their way. What you may not realize is that the Cleveland Cavaliers have more wins on the season than the Trail Blazers. You also may not know that the Portland Trail Blazers have not won a single road game this season. The Cavaliers are 5-3 ATS on the season while the Trail Blazers are 3-4 ATS.

This game opened up with the Trail Blazers as three-point favorites. I wanted to bet the Cavaliers at that point but decided to wait because I was sure public perception would move the line in the Trail Blazers favor. That’s exactly what happened. PointsBet is reporting 80% of the tickets and 85% of the handle backing the Trail Blazers. Kevin Love, who is now a bench player for the Cavs, is in the health and safety protocol. I can see this line continuing to move toward the Blazers. Bottom line is Portland has not looked good to start the season, and the Cavs have been competitive. I have this power ranked as a one possession game.

Edge: Cavaliers +5.5

Boston Celtics vs. Orlando Magic (+6.5) Total: 213.5

A pair of two win teams try to get their third victory of the season tonight in Orlando. The Celtics season is off to a rough start. Boston is on a three-game losing streak, and players are even pointing fingers at each other. After blowing a huge lead vs. the Bulls at home on Monday night, Celtics guard Marcus Smart was critical of teammates Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown. It could be a rough year for the Celtics. Tonight, they are 6.5-point road favorites vs. the Orlando Magic.

The Magic, who are 3-5 ATS on the season, are coming off a three-game road trip in which they defeated the Timberwolves and lost to the Raptors and Pistons by a combined eight points. The Celtics two wins on the season came vs. the Hornets and the Rockets. The spread on this game opened up with the Celtics as seven-point road favorites. PointsBet is reporting over 60% of the tickets and 58% of the handle backing Boston, yet the line has moved against the Celtics. That reverse steam signals respected money on the Magic.

Edge: Magic +6.5
