One last hurrah for Heat bettors?

Good teams win, great teams cover.

I’ve heard that saying hundreds of times in my life and it still makes me smile. Odds are good that you are smiling if you’ve been betting on the Miami Heat throughout the NBA postseason.

According to Rotoworld’s Edge Finder, the Heat are 15-and-4 (79%) against the spread in 19 playoff games in the bubble. A $100 bettor is up almost $1,000 just blindly betting on Miami.

“I bet them at least 12 times in the playoffs and won or 9 of 10 of those bets,” professional bettor James Alberino told NBC Sports. “They play really good defense, Erik Spoelstra is one of the best coaches in the league and they come back from deficits. They had a lot of games where they would fall behind early, but they’re a mentally tough team with a lot of guys who can shoot the ball. No lead is too big for them to come back from. Butler and Bam really set the tone for how tough this team is."[[ad:athena]]

Thanks to two backdoor covers, Miami has cashed three of four times in the NBA Finals. Kelly Olynyk’s late layup in Game 2 and Tyler Herro’s buzzer-beating three in Game 4 caused million dollar swings for sportsbooks across the United States.

PointsBet Sportsbook is dealing the Heat as a 7-point underdog to the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5 on Friday night.

The sand might run out of the hourglass soon, but there’s still one more chance to bet on a mentally tough basketball team that has proven they refuse to quit. And who knows, maybe Miami point guard Goran Dragic will be able to give it a go. He was a game-time decision Tuesday night, but was ruled out at the last minute.
